Join OCU Energy at an exciting stage of growth as our FP&A Manager, leading financial planning and analysis across a fast-growing business at the heart of the UK's energy transition. Reporting to the Head of Group FP&A, you will play a pivotal role in driving business performance through robust financial planning, forecasting, analysis, and strategic insight. Working closely with senior operational and commercial leaders, you will provide decision-support, identify opportunities for growth and efficiency, and help shape the future direction of the business. This is a highly visible role offering direct exposure to executive leadership, including the Group CEO and CFO, as well as interaction with private equity investors and lenders. As OCU continues to expand through strong organic growth and acquisitions, the successful candidate will have exceptional opportunities for professional development and progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-term strategic planning processes for the Energy Business Unit.
  • Develop financial models, forecasts and scenario analyses to support decision-making and performance improvement.
  • Produce insightful management reporting, highlighting key trends, risks, opportunities and recommendations.
  • Partner with operational, commercial and functional leaders to optimise financial performance and resource allocation.
  • Conduct detailed variance analysis and financial investigations to support strategic initiatives.
  • Manage and develop FP&A analysts, providing coaching and leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement across FP&A processes, systems and reporting.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business to support financial and operational objectives.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with at least 3 years' post-qualification experience.
  • Strong FP&A background with experience leading planning, forecasting and reporting processes.
  • Experience working within a project-based environment, ideally construction, infrastructure or engineering.
  • Advanced financial modelling and Excel skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence engaging senior leaders.
  • Experience with Dynamics 365 and Power BI would be advantageous.
  • Proactive, ambitious and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
