About The Role
We are seeking a hands-on Site Supervisor to oversee delivery of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in the Shetland Islands. This role is critical in ensuring on-site works are carried out safely, to specification, and on schedule.
As Supervisor, you will work closely with contractors, engineers, and site teams to ensure all foundations, ducting, and cabling works are executed to the highest standard.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for future opportunities as we expand our energy transition portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily site activities across foundations, ducting, and cabling works.
- Act as the on-site point of contact, ensuring all works are carried out to design, safety, and quality standards.
- Monitor progress, resolve issues, and escalate where necessary to the Project Manager.
- Enforce health and safety compliance, ensuring site teams adhere to all protocols.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to keep workflow on track.
- Maintain accurate site records, daily reports, and updates for project stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For (Non-Negotiables)
- Electrical background (essential).
- Proven site supervision experience in BESS / energy / utilities / civils projects.
- Ability to manage foundations, ducting, and cabling activities on site.
- Strong personality – able to challenge contractors and ensure standards are met.
- Relevant health & safety certification (e.g. SSSTS, SMSTS, NEBOSH, IOSH).
- Willingness to work on 10 days on / 4 days off rotation in the Shetlands (all travel/accommodation provided).
