Planner – Competitive Salary & Benefits Package. UK-wide | Hybrid | Travel to Projects as Required. Are you ready to play a key role in shaping the UK’s future infrastructure? We’re looking for an ambitious Planner to join our growing project delivery team, supporting some of the country’s most high-profile energy and infrastructure projects. This is more than just scheduling – it’s about being at the heart of nation-critical programmes, driving performance, and helping deliver projects that power communities and enable the UK’s energy transition.
The Role
As a Planner, you’ll work closely with Senior Planners, Project Managers, and Engineering teams to develop, maintain, and optimise project schedules across multiple phases. From procurement and construction through to commissioning, you’ll ensure that timelines are realistic, risks are managed, and programmes stay on track.
Responsibilities
- Build, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Track progress against milestones, identifying and mitigating risks or delays.
- Integrate supplier and subcontractor schedules into master programmes.
- Produce clear, accurate reports, dashboards, and schedule analysis for internal and client stakeholders.
- Contribute to risk workshops, programme reviews, and planning sessions.
- Support the standardisation of planning processes across projects.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in construction or infrastructure planning.
- Strong technical ability with Primavera P6 and solid Excel skills.
- Understanding of project lifecycles from mobilisation to completion.
- Knowledge of NEC or FIDIC contract frameworks.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with confidence engaging across project teams.
Desirable Extras
- Experience in the energy/utilities sector (substations, grid connections, major civils).
- Familiarity with earned value management, critical path, and delay analysis.
- Previous involvement in client-side reporting and programme governance.
