As a Quantity Surveyor in the water industry, you will play a pivotal role in driving the commercial success of complex infrastructure projects. From cost control and procurement to contract management and risk mitigation, you will bring technical precision, commercial insight, and clear communication to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and to the highest standards.

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and develop detailed project budgets, monitoring expenditure and identifying cost efficiencies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage tendering and procurement activities, including bid evaluation, contract negotiation, and supplier and subcontractor engagement.
  • Administer contracts, variations, and claims, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and client requirements while resolving commercial issues.
  • Implement robust cost control measures, producing regular cost reports, forecasts, and variance analysis to manage risk and profitability.
  • Measure, value, and certify works completed, ensuring accurate interim and final payments in line with contractual terms.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and project risks, working collaboratively with project teams to protect project outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field.
  • Chartered status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS/CICES) or working towards chartered status is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or relevant experience in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management principles.
  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office suite.
