Our engineering services require delivering in an agile environment. We are looking for candidates who work as part of our dynamic multidisciplinary water/wastewater design team within Purestream Design (Purestream).

About The Job
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment across teams worldwide, including the UK, to ensure successful delivery of projects.
- Lead small projects and contribute to efficient delivery to meet programme and budget, complying with OCU business management governance.
- Produce and review design deliverables including engineering design calculations, drawings and report writing for projects in accordance with relevant design standards, codes and Purestream design management system.
- Practice and contribute to quality and safe design of technical solutions for projects in accordance with relevant design standards and codes.
- Have strong communication skills and be able to deliver technical solutions to clients and other design engineers as well as inputting into collaborative design discussions including technical workshops, safety reviews and constructability assessments.
- Engage with clients and construction team (incl. Design & Build) and contribute to discussions on technical engineering solutions, both during project delivery and bidding stages.
- Understand how water and wastewater treatment processes and pumping systems operate and be able to assess existing site infrastructure to develop and deliver the civil/structural design on infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects.
- Provide support to allow the project team to comply with the duties of Designer under CDM, including the production of design risk assessments and environmental risk assessments.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Educated to degree level within Civil/Structural engineering or equivalent; Incorporated Engineer status or working towards achieving Chartered status with the ICE or equivalent institution.
- Hands‑on experience of design, design‑&-build, project and bid delivery in the water and/or wastewater engineering sector in the UK.
- A strong technical water sector background, incl. knowledge of CESWI, relevant UK codes and asset standards, for water and/or wastewater infrastructure and/or non‑infrastructure assets.
- Highly motivated, organised and with a strong desire to manage and contribute to technical excellence within project teams and wider OCU team/practice.
- Experience of working with contractors to deliver the successful implementation of engineering solutions in the Design & Build environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently within a multidisciplinary team including with Clients, Contractors and colleagues alike.
- Flexible approach to work type and locations for project assignments, if required, with visits to sites or client office for meetings.
