Key Responsibilities
- This is a hands‑on leadership role where you will take responsibility for the day‑to‑day management of site activities across civil and electrical works.
- You will be a visible presence on site, ensuring that operations run smoothly, safely, and in line with programme and specification.
- With projects often involving cabling works under public highways and switching station activities, you will play a key role in coordinating teams, maintaining standards, and driving delivery performance.
- You will supervise daily site operations, managing both direct labour and subcontractors to ensure work is delivered safely and efficiently.
- You will oversee civil and electrical installations, including ducting, trenching, and switch station works, ensuring all activities meet required specifications and quality standards.
- Regular site inspections, safety audits, and quality checks will form a key part of your responsibilities, alongside ensuring that all permits, inductions, and documentation are in place before works commence.
- You will manage site resources and plan manpower effectively to maintain productivity, while also supporting incident and near‑miss reporting, ensuring that any issues are addressed and lessons are learned.
- Above all, you will champion a strong safety culture, promoting a zero‑harm environment and encouraging collaboration across teams.
Skills, Knowledge And Expertise
- You are an experienced Site Supervisor with a strong background in civil or electrical site operations, ideally within utilities or infrastructure projects.
- You hold SMSTS or SSSTS certification and have a solid understanding of health and safety best practices, with IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications seen as advantageous.
- Experience or knowledge of NRSWA supervision is desirable, along with an awareness of confined spaces, deep excavations, and working at height.
- You should be confident managing teams on site, coordinating multiple activities, and ensuring work is delivered to a high standard.
- A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
