OCU is seeking an experienced and highly motivated HV/AIS Operations Manager to join our growing team based in Neath. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and coordinating all operational activities across the business, ensuring the safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of our services within large substation projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee production, logistics, facilities management, and resource allocation, ensuring efficient, safe, and high‑quality delivery of services.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies.
  • Monitor performance through KPIs.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Confident and proactive leader with a proven track record of delivering operational success up to 100 kW substation projects within a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands‑on operational management.
  • Proven experience in an Operations Manager or Senior HV Operational leadership role.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing high‑performing teams.
  • Excellent analytical, planning, and decision‑making capabilities.
  • Demonstrable experience in process improvement and operational optimisation.
  • Strong commercial awareness and resource management experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and operational management systems.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, or similar methodologies would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience within the utilities, power, engineering, construction, infrastructure is essential.
