OCU Group is seeking a highly capable Project Manager to join our Regulated Power UK division. This role will focus on delivering projects across regulated electricity networks, including transmission and distribution infrastructure, ensuring safe, efficient, and commercially successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of projects from initiation through to completion, managing all aspects of delivery in line with client expectations, regulatory requirements, and company standards.
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of regulated power projects, including HV and EHV works.
  • Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including design, engineering, and site operations.
  • Act as the primary liaison with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor project performance, ensuring delivery to time, cost, and quality targets.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Oversee procurement, subcontractor management, and contract administration.
  • Ensure adherence to NEC or equivalent contract frameworks.
  • Drive continuous improvement and best practice across project delivery.
  • Manage commissioning, handover, and project close-out activities, including documentation.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in project management within the power, utilities, or infrastructure sector.
  • Strong knowledge of UK regulated electricity networks (DNO/IDNO and/or transmission).
  • Experience managing complex projects involving HV/EHV systems or substations.
  • Solid understanding of CDM Regulations and UK health & safety legislation.
  • Experience working with NEC contracts or similar.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational abilities.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Skills

  • Professional certification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM, PMP).
  • Experience with National Grid or major DNO frameworks.
  • Background in electrical engineering or construction delivery.
  • Experience in stakeholder management on large-scale infrastructure projects.
