As part of this growth, we’re looking for a Project Engineer to join our Low Voltage Manufacturing team in Resolven, supporting the delivery of electrical manufacturing projects across a wide range of energy environments.

This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced and technically driven team working on projects linked to substations, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), renewable generation sites, grid connections, utility infrastructure, and industrial energy facilities. You’ll play a key role in overseeing the assembly and testing of low-voltage electrical switchgear and protection/control equipment while coordinating projects from initial planning through to successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • You’ll act as the main point of contact for customers throughout the lifecycle of manufacturing projects, ensuring communication remains clear and projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time.
  • Working closely with internal design, software, assembly, and management teams, you’ll help coordinate manufacturing workflows, procurement activities, and project documentation while supporting the smooth delivery of multiple work packages simultaneously.
  • The role will involve reviewing work packages, assisting with manufacturing workflow planning, arranging procurement of materials, and managing subcontractors where required.
  • You’ll also oversee project change control and variation orders while maintaining accurate project and test documentation throughout the delivery process.
  • Collaboration will be key, as you’ll regularly liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards.
  • Alongside project delivery responsibilities, you’ll support the department’s commitment to health and safety by participating in risk assessments, toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training activities.
  • You’ll also help identify and report hazards, incidents, and near misses while supporting investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • A key part of the role will involve supporting project close-out activities, ensuring accurate as-built drawings, commissioning records, technical documentation and handover packs are completed in line with client and regulatory requirements.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • To succeed in this role, you’ll have familiarity with Low Voltage Switchgear and Control Panels, including components, assembly techniques, schematics, SLDs, GA drawings, and testing processes.
  • You’ll be highly organised with the ability to manage multiple work packages simultaneously while maintaining strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • You’ll also have excellent time management and documentation skills alongside strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams is essential, as is a proactive attitude and willingness to continue learning and developing within the role.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project, knowledge of BS EN 60204-1 and BS EN 60439-1 standards, and previous experience preparing customer quotations or test documentation would be beneficial but are not essential.
