Play a key role in the safe installation, maintenance and repair of high‑voltage electrical systems across substations, industrial sites and distribution networks. Ensure the reliable operation of HV assets in line with statutory regulations and company procedures. Work within a skilled engineering team delivering essential HV services to critical infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

  • Carry out planned and reactive HV maintenance on switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults to minimise downtime and maintain system reliability.
  • Install HV components, cabling and protection systems to engineering specifications.
  • Perform HV testing (VLF, insulation resistance, pressure testing) and support commissioning activities.
  • Work in accordance with HV safety rules, permits, RAMS and UK legislation including EAWR and PUWER.
  • Complete job sheets, test records and asset documentation accurately.

What You’ll Bring

Essential

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience working on 11kV–33kV systems and above.
  • Competence in HV switching (AP/CP authorisation desirable).
  • Strong understanding of electrical protection systems.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Experience working within substations or distribution network environments.
  • Familiarity with HV commissioning processes.
  • Additional HV authorisations or safety certifications.
