Octric Semiconductor is a new name in the compound semiconductor foundry space. Its devices are used in mission‑critical defence and commercial applications.

For over 25 years, we have delivered more than 1.5 billion devices shipped from our site to date.

Located in Newton Aycliffe, UK, we occupy a 10,000 m² purpose‑built Class 100 manufacturing facility fully equipped to produce state‑of‑the‑art compound semiconductor products.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Provide Layout Technical Support for OCTRIC’s internal and external customers.
  • Ensure design compliance with the requirements of internal OCTRIC’s mask set release procedures.
  • Laise with IC Mask Manufacturers
  • Laise with Customers, Engineers and Programme Managers within the OCTRIC’s Business Unit, to ensure reticle development is carried out in an efficient and timely manner to support timescales and objectives.
  • Setting of and attendance of Design and Mask Release Reviews in respect to Layout Support
  • Generate and maintain Records for Reticle Sets.

Main Tasks

  • Layout ICs and reticle sets from initial conception.
  • Prepare documents for Critical IC Design and Mask Release Reviews
  • Generate Mask Order Documents
  • Generate Reticle Design Documents.
  • Maintain Mask Document and Mask Data Archive

Experience

  • 2 yearsin Electronic / Electrical Engineering with CAD experience

Technical Skills

  • Familiar with running CAD Engineering Layout Software such as KLayout, Ledit, NAZCA Design or similar.
  • Very Good Literacy and Mathematical skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications e. g. Word, Excel

Personal Qualities

  • Be able to resolve spatial layout issues logically and accurately.
  • Good communication and customer interaction skills
  • Needs to have capacity to establish technical and personal credibility amongst technical groups.

Education / Qualifications

  • HND / HNC Science / Engineering based
