The Role
As a Strategic Partnerships Manager - Charity at Octopus Legacy you’ll take ownership of one of our most important growth areas: building and scaling partnerships with UK charities to deliver our legacy and will writing services.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Signing new charity partners
- Growing legacy service adoption
- Positioning Octopus Legacy as the leading partner for Free Will Services and legacy growth
- Building a strong pipeline of prospects
- Developing existing relationships with senior stakeholders (Heads of Legacy, Fundraising Directors)
- Close high value, long term partnerships
- Translating our product offering into clear ROI and impact for charities
- Navigating complex decision making processes within organisations
You’ll sit within a broader partnerships function but will have significant autonomy to define:
- Your target segments
- Your approach to market
- How we win and grow in the charity space

Key Responsibilities
- New Business & Revenue Growth
- Own and deliver against ambitious targets for signing new charity partners
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities across the charity sector
- Lead end to end sales cycles, from outreach through to contract signature
- Develop tailored proposals aligned to each charity’s legacy strategy
- Drive consistent, high-quality deal conversion
- Market Development & Strategy
- Identify priority segments and opportunities within the charity landscape
- Refine messaging, positioning and go to market approach
- Gather feedback from the market to inform product and proposition development
- Stay close to sector trends (legacy giving, fundraising, regulation)
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Account management (for smooth handover and partner success)
- Marketing (campaigns, case studies, collateral)
- Product (feedback on charity and supporter needs)
- Help shape how we deliver and scale our charity proposition
- Pipeline & Performance Management
- Maintain accurate pipeline tracking using CRM systems
- Forecast revenue and track performance against targets
- Use data to continuously improve conversion and sales effectiveness
Who Are You?
- A high ownership operator - you take initiative and build momentum without waiting to be asked
- Proven experience in B2B sales, partnerships or business development
- Experience selling into charities or adjacent sectors desirable but not essential
- Strong consultative sales skills and comfortable with longer, relationship led sales cycles
- Confident engaging senior stakeholders and influencing decisions
- Commercially driven, with a track record of hitting or exceeding targets
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple complex deals simultaneously
- A strong communicator who can simplify complex ideas and build trust quickly
- Curious about the charity sector and motivated by purpose driven work
- Comfortable using CRM tools and managing a structured pipeline
- Proactive, resilient and motivated by building something from the ground up
