Plumber/Gas Engineer - South West London

Octopus Plumbing LTD is an established plumbing, heating and gas company operating primarily across South West London. We work with private homeowners, landlords, estate agents and property management companies, providing a professional and reliable service.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Plumber/Gas Engineer to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Role

This is a combined plumbing and gas engineering position. The successful candidate must be confident carrying out both general plumbing and domestic gas/heating work independently.

Typical duties will include:

• General plumbing repairs and installations

• Leak investigations and repairs

• Tap, toilet, shower and sanitary ware repairs and replacements

• First and second fix plumbing for bathroom installations and refurbishments

• Installation of bathroom sanitary ware, including toilets, basins, baths, showers and associated pipework

• Boiler servicing, diagnostics and repairs

• Boiler breakdowns and fault finding

• Boiler installations and replacements

• Gas Safety Certificates

• Gas appliance inspections and testing

• Central heating system diagnostics and repairs

• Radiator and TRV installations and repairs

• Heating controls, thermostats and smart heating systems

• Hot water and heating fault finding

• Identifying faults and recommending appropriate remedial works

• Completing job reports, photographs and relevant documentation following each visit

• Communicating professionally with clients, tenants and property managers

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ professional experience in plumbing and gas/heating

• Gas Safe registered / valid Gas Safe qualifications - essential

• Strong general plumbing skills

• Experience with first and second fix bathroom plumbing

• Excellent boiler diagnostic and fault-finding skills

• Experience servicing, repairing and installing domestic boilers

• Good knowledge of domestic heating and hot water systems

• Full Driving Licence

• Ability to work independently and manage jobs efficiently

• Professional and presentable manner

• Good communication and customer service skills

• High standard of workmanship and attention to detail

• Reliable, punctual and responsible approach to work

Experience working in high-end residential properties and with property management companies or estate agents would be an advantage.

• Monday to Friday, 8AM-5PM

• Saturdays are not obligatory and may be required depending on company needs, typically 8AM-3PM

We are looking for someone who is not simply qualified, but genuinely experienced in both plumbing and gas/heating work. You should be comfortable attending properties independently, diagnosing problems, carrying out first and second fix bathroom plumbing, explaining your findings clearly and completing work to a high professional standard.
