We are seeking a passionate placement student to join our growing team at Octopus Energy’s heat pump factory in Portadown, Northern Ireland. As a Manufacturing placement student, you will play a crucial role with the use of manufacturing principles and practices to improve manufacturing equipment and processes.
What you will do:
- Hands-on support to design and implement material presentation
- Study and refine manufacturing processes
- Design and build manufacturing aids/jigs
- Design and implementation of engineering systems and infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, supporting problem-solving investigations and the introduction of new products and processes
- Drive a continuous improvement ethic
- Process validation studies
What you will need:
- Currently enrolled on a university degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering and requiring a 12-month placement
- Ability to be on-site every day at our Portadown heat pump factory (37.5 Hrs)
- Good communication skills
- Clear and concise writing skills
- In-depth knowledge of working with hand/power tools
