Our content team is at the core of our growth engine, and we’re looking for an amazing Content Lead to lead our small but mighty content team into the next stage of growth for our EV business. You’ll own our content engine, translating our brand messaging into high-performing campaigns that educate, engage, and convert potential EV drivers.

This isn’t just about writing; it’s about architecting a modern content ecosystem. You’ll lead a talented internal team and a network of freelancers to create engaging content across social, email, and our website, leveraging the latest in SEO and LLM technology to stay ahead of the curve.

What you’ll do:

  • Build and execute our content strategy across all marketing channels, aligning with our brand guidelines, tone of voice, and commercial goals.
  • Partner with the marketing team on priority projects to understand target audiences in depth, and generate new creative ideas to engage them or reformat existing content to meet their needs and our commercial goals.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing content team (currently a B2B Content Manager, a Social Content Creator, and freelance copywriters), supporting the team to have the biggest possible commercial impact.
  • Help set the marketing team priorities alongside the Marketing Leadership Team, highlighting how content drives growth and retention.
  • Experiment with AI tools to create high-quality content efficiently and at scale, coaching your team to do the same.
  • Oversee the creation of compelling content tailored for platform-specific audiences (LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok/X, YouTube).
  • Keep up to date with the latest trends, algorithms and platform updates so content remains effective, relevant, and high-performing.
  • Support the Head of CRM to deliver best-in-class contact strategies for prospective business clients and EV drivers, using segmented storytelling to move prospects through the funnel.
  • Lead organic growth by combining SEO best practices with LLM-optimisation to ensure brand visibility in AI-driven search results.
  • Ensure every piece of content, from long-form whitepapers to short reels, is consistent with our tone of voice and positioning.
  • Act as our content champion across the business, ensuring all content is on brand, high quality and technically accurate.
  • Define KPIs for content health, using data to iterate on topics and formats based on resonance with potential EV drivers and business prospects.
  • Champion a test-and-learn culture through experimentation and A/B testing to continuously improve engagement.

What you’ll need:

  • Proven experience in Content Leadership (3-4 years), ideally in high-growth scale-up businesses.
  • Commercially driven: A track record of driving commercial outcomes through content.
  • Broad understanding of marketing channels: ability to create content for any channel that drives commercial growth, with support from channel leads.
  • Passion for customer experience and insight-led marketing.
  • Adaptability: comfortable with fast pace, collaborative, proactive, and open to trying new approaches.
  • Embrace failure: a test-and-learn mindset; some tests won’t be successful, but testing drives learning.
  • Excellent communication skills: capable of writing briefs for copywriters, sub-editing content, and occasionally writing copy from scratch.
  • Stakeholder management: ability to communicate strategy to senior stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
  • Growth mindset: focus on building positive feedback loops to improve campaigns.
  • Ability to ruthlessly prioritise: decide which tasks to do when there is a lot to consider.
