The Development Portfolio Management Team at OEGEN is responsible for delivering our development investments and works closely with developers to deliver on the investment cases in changing commercial and market dynamics. Your mission will be to make our large development portfolio across Europe a huge success, spanning different maturity stages (from early stage land to ready to build) and five countries. We are looking for someone who is commercially minded, understands renewables development, loves data, and communicates clearly with the team and senior stakeholders.
The role is responsible for delivering the OEGEN development pipeline to the start of construction, including risk identification and mitigation to ensure that the projects are commercially viable. You will be in charge of value maximisation of projects through their development journey and lead on exits.
What you’ll do:- Development Management: Directly manage individual projects from early to late development phase, overseeing planning condition discharge, grid liaison, and contracting. Control the risk management process, development budget, and programme delivery.
- Procurement: Set the contracting strategy for projects. Tender and negotiate all supply, EPC, ICP, and O&M contracts in accordance with OEGEN requirements. Manage a range of advisors including technical, legal, and planning service providers.
- Pipeline Quality Oversight: Work closely with development partners to ensure the quality of the projects within the pipeline and support optimisations. Assess the quality, skill sets, risk appetite, and judgement of our development partners. Improve the success rates and timelines for projects reaching the start of construction. Support the board directors and fund managers in making the right decisions on projects’ progression through development stages.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate strong and productive relationships with developers, funds, and other stakeholders to facilitate the successful delivery of objectives.
- Extensive experience in developing renewable energy projects, particularly in the later stages of development.
- Strong project management and technical background.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, adept at engaging and influencing a diverse stakeholder group.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related fields.
- Senior management experience in the renewable energy or related sectors.
- Proficient in project management, data, and reporting.
- Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills.
