Overview
In this role you will provide senior commercial and market expertise across OEGEN’s renewable portfolio, with a focus on overseeing energy-market activity for a key fund and building the BESS capability.
You will translate complex markets into clear commercial recommendations, support investment decisions, and optimise asset revenue.
You’ll work across Asset Management, Fund Management, Investment and Technical teams, shaping market strategy and risk management.
This is a highly commercial, execution-focused position with external partner coordination and clear ownership of commercial questions.

Responsibilities
- Lead energy-market coverage for ORIT, including route-to-market, revenue strategy, hedging, market risk and key counterparties
- Develop OEGEN’s BESS commercial strategy across priority markets with revenue underwriting and risk management
- Provide senior market input into investment decisions, challenging price and structure assumptions
- Create standards for BESS and collocated assets, incorporating lessons from operations into new investment assumptions
- Oversee complex commercial processes (optimiser, route-to-market, strategic PPA tenders) and coordinate with external providers
- Monitor energy-market, regulatory, and policy developments and identify risks and opportunities
- Collaborate with Fund Asset Directors and Fund Management to implement market strategies aligned with fund objectives
- Manage relationships with traders, optimisers, balancing parties, advisers and other commercial partners
- Define and interpret quantitative analysis for hedging, BESS, merchant exposure and portfolio risk
- Communicate market issues clearly to Investment Committee, Asset Boards and investors with practical recommendations
- Key requirements
- Significant experience in European power markets and renewable energy commercialisation
- Strong experience in BESS commercial strategy including revenue modelling and route-to-market
- Experience advising renewable IPP, fund manager, utility, trading house or energy consultancy
- Excellent commercial judgement and track record of refining market assumptions and structures
- Strong understanding of renewable revenue drivers (PPAs, merchant exposure, hedging, balancing, grid constraints)
- High financial and numerical acumen for complex revenue models and investment assumptions
- Experience leading complex commercial processes and managing external counterparties
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and translate market complexity into decisions
