Overview
We are on a mission to drive the global renewable energy revolution. We’re looking for smart meter engineers with a track record of safety and customer excellence. You’ll represent our brands in customers’ homes, so you should be comfortable talking to customers as you perform installations.
You’ll be fitting meters; showing customers how their meter and in-home display work; how it can help them save energy; and answering any questions about the green energy revolution we are leading.
As part of the Octopus Energy Services team, you’ll be supported by an office team with the same performance goals and backed by Octopus Energy’s tech power to continuously evolve processes and reduce admin time so you can focus on delivering excellent service.
Responsibilities
- Fit smart meters and in-home displays at customers’ premises
- Explain how the meter and in-home display work and how to save energy
- Answer customer questions about our products, services, and the renewable energy transition
- Collaborate with the field and office teams to deliver high-quality service
Qualifications
- MOCoPA – held within the last 3 years with evidence
- Gas Safe – CCN1/MET1 or CMA1/MET1 (or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points

Call-out, overtime and weekend pay
- Rotating call-out every five weeks with a £250 retainer; paid door-to-door when called
- Saturday work: £50 for attending, £70 for a dual-fuel installation, £35 for a single-fuel installation; technical aborts paid at half rate
