Role: Smart meter engineer with a track record of safety and customer excellence. You’ll represent our brands in customers’ homes, so you should be comfortable talking to customers and performing the installation itself.
You’ll be fitting meters, showing customers how their meter and in-home display work, how it can help them save energy, and answering any questions about the green energy revolution we are leading.
Team and support: As part of the Octopus Energy Services team, you’ll have the support of an office team sharing the same performance goals. You’ll also have the backing of Octopus Energy’s tech power to evolve processes, reduce admin time, and deliver our best service.
Responsibilities
- Fit smart meters in customers’ homes and demonstrate meter and in-home display operation.
- Explain how to save energy and discuss the green energy revolution with customers.
- Deliver top-class service as part of the Octopus Energy Services team.
What you\’ll need
- MOCoPA – held within the last 3 years with evidence
- Gas Safe – CCN1/MET1 or CMA1/MET1 (or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points

Call-out and overtime
- Rotating call-out schedule once every five weeks (Monday to Sunday) with a £250 retainer; you’ll be paid door-to-door if called out
Saturday working
- £50 for attending
- £70 for a dual fuel installation
- £35 for a single fuel installation
- Technical aborts are paid at half rate
