It is now a complex multi-billion turnover international group, which participates in multiple industry verticals including retail utilities, utilities management, generation, EV leasing and software sales. As part of our growth strategy, we are implementing a number of new business management applications to streamline our finance operations and improve efficiency. We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support our end to end finance applications. This role is an opportunity to be part of the ongoing success of Finance and the team\’s ability to successfully implement new systems & control frameworks for the Group. Working in Octopus\’ Finance Systems & Governance team, you will be responsible for documenting end to end Finance processes, identifying best practices, controls and procedures. You will be central to the development of a Group wide Risk & Control Matrix and ensuring that Octopus\’ Finance has audit reliance. You will also be responsible for working with stakeholders across all our Octopus\’ entities to capture requirements for Finance applications; this includes but is not limited to NetSuite. You\’ll be part of a business-critical transformation, with the chance to contribute to the delivery of a modern ERP platform and Finance Control Framework.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for interviewing Finance Stakeholders to capture and document as is business processes
- Using your knowledge of financial processes and controls, identify risks and devise appropriate risk management and controls and to-be processes which will also inform our finance transformation
- Report on new requirements, gaps in Finance systems, controls and processes
- Ensure Finance is following best practices and processes are designed to be re-used where possible
- Identify problems within the business relating, through data modelling techniques and process flows
- Have the ability to streamline processes
- Communicate with senior people within the organisation
- Part of this assignment will be to run workshops and training sessions in order to ensure that everyone is on board and understands the processes involved
- Work closely with the business to address findings raised by the audit committee
- Develop and manage a risk control matrix
- Align internal and external stakeholders of the benefits of new technology or strategies/requirements/processes
- Control business analysis activities as required during the project lifecycle from project initiation through to closure
- Support the UAT (e.g. test case creation & execution) and provide knowledge and expertise to support defect resolution
- Support (and undertake where necessary) business change activities e.g. training
- Conduct peer reviews and workshops for requirements definitions, As-Is and To-Be models to ensure quality, completeness and unambiguity
- Develop user documentation
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a Business Analyst, with 6+ years of experience with finance solutions
- Demonstrable experience of Finance Controls, Processes and Procedures
- Experience working within a project team
- Ability to operate confidently in a multi-country, culturally diverse environment
- Comfortable working in a hands-on capacity across project management and business analysis
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
