As a Rotational Moulding Operator, you will be responsible for operating rotational moulding machines to produce high-quality plastic products. Your role involves loading moulds with raw materials, setting up and monitoring the moulding process, and ensuring that finished products meet quality standards.
What you'll do:
- Machine Setup and Preparation: Load raw materials, such as plastic resins and additives, into the moulds. Set up machine parameters, including temperature, rotation speed, and cycle time, based on production requirements.
- Machine Operation: Operate rotational moulding machines to produce plastic products. Monitor machine operation to ensure that the moulding process runs smoothly and efficiently. Adjust machine settings as necessary to optimise production and maintain product quality.
- Quality Control: Ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications. Implement corrective actions to address quality issues and prevent defects from recurring. Clean moulds, equipment, and work areas regularly to prevent contamination and maintain hygiene standards. Perform routine maintenance tasks on rotational moulding machines, such as lubrication and calibration. Replace worn-out or damaged machine parts as necessary to ensure optimal performance. Maintain accurate records of production activities, including machine settings, production quantities, and quality inspections.
Technical training or experience in machine operation or plastics manufacturing is desirable. Previous experience operating rotational moulding machines or similar equipment preferred. Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs.
Working Conditions: The role primarily operates in a manufacturing environment, which may involve exposure to loud noises, moving machinery, and various chemicals. Training and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be provided, and adherence to safety protocols is mandatory. The position may require occasional overtime and weekend work to meet production deadlines.
