We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Warehouse Operative to join our team at Octopus Energy, a leading manufacturer of heat pumps. The successful candidate will be responsible for packing and preparing heat pump units and components for shipment, ensuring all products meet our quality standards and are securely packaged for delivery to our customers.

What you’ll do

  • Packaging and Shipping: Pack heat pump units and components according to company standards and specifications. Use appropriate packing materials to secure products and prevent damage during transit. Label packages with correct shipping information and product details. Verify product quantities and descriptions before packaging.
  • Quality Control: Inspect products for defects or damages prior to packaging. Report any quality issues or discrepancies to the quality team immediately.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of packed products and shipping details. Assist in managing packing supplies inventory and notify the supervisor when supplies are low.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while handling and packaging products. Follow company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • General Duties: Keep the packing area clean and organized. Assist in other warehouse areas as needed or directed by the manager. Assist with the cardboard and waste segregation.

What you’ll need

  • Previous experience in a packing or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with heat pumps or HVAC products is a plus.
  • Reach truck licence or counterbalance desirable.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management.
  • Experience using thermal pallet strapper an advantage.
