We have a spot for an analytical whizz who loves to get stuck into data and wants to make a real commercial difference here at Octopus Energy. Our dynamic Gross Margin team are looking for an Industry Analyst who will be key to our mission of putting a big green dent in the universe. Your ability to understand the ins and outs of industry data versus our own, spot nuances, drive margin improvements, and get excited about tackling settlement costs will be invaluable as we serve over 7 million UK households.

What You'll Do:

  • Analyse and interpret data to identify gap opportunities that improve commercial performance.
  • Develop bespoke analysis to support product development alongside our dedicated Data Engineers.
  • Collaborate with Industry & Billing teams to create solutions that close the gap.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualisations that enable operations to quickly understand complex information and make informed decisions.

What You'll Have:

  • At least 3 years experience in related roles in the retail energy with industry settlement and/or data knowledge. A specialism in Gas industry knowledge would be a big plus.
  • Strong analytical skills, commercial interest, and the ability to distinguish between what matters and what doesn’t.
  • A proficiency or desire to code with SQL (Databricks / Spark). dbt experience is a big plus.
  • Enjoy developing use cases to solve complex problems iteratively.
  • Curious about new and complex areas & excited by a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • An interest in storytelling with data, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
