We’re looking for a FinOps Debt Specialist to help lead our Arrears and Collections processes. You will be key in dealing with later stage accounts as well as helping to build a scalable process that stays ahead of our customer base and volumes of late payers. We need someone that has a great eye for detail, is a self-starter, and is willing to act as an ambassador for Finance’s interests to the rest of the business.
What you’ll do:
- Play a key role in shaping our consumer proposition as we grow our leasing business; ensuring we are compliant with all regulatory requirements.
- Handle escalations for cases that have proved difficult to solve, whether through our early collections process or different areas of the business (e.g. Account Management).
- Liaise with different parts of the business to build processes that deal with our late and non-payers (e.g. vehicle collection).
- Develop our arrears reporting processes; both internally and to funders.
- Process settlements with funders for businesses who are in arrears or insolvent.
- Support with staying on top of both internal and external queries (e.g. Slack and Intercom).
- Build out our process for businesses that have gone into administration.
- Lay the groundwork for our Legal claims process.
What you’ll need:
- Experience working in a highly regulated space, such as FCA regulated consumer products and credit.
- A numerical mindset and demonstrable experience working with large datasets (strong Excel/Sheets skills are a must and SQL is a plus).
- Experience in a customer facing role, preferably in an account management context.
- Knowledge of CRM billing systems and Collections processes are preferred.
- The ability to have difficult conversations both internally and externally.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- A positive ‘can do’ attitude with confidence in your own abilities.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
Why else you’ll love it here:
- Wondering what the salary for this role is? Just ask us! On a call with one of our recruiters it's something we always cover as we genuinely want to match your experience with the correct salary.
- Octopus Energy Group is a unique culture. An organisation where people learn, decide, and build quicker. Where people work with autonomy, alongside a wide range of amazing co-owners, on projects that break new ground.
