One of our Blue Chip Clients is urgently looking for an ETL Data Engineer. For this role you will need to be onsite in Telford 2-3 days per week. Please find some details below:
Project Overview: This project aims to unify RSDD APIs TXR002 and ADE into a single service that will act as the central calculations data provider for all current and future consumers. Both services - TXR002 and ADE - are functionally equivalent but serve different consumers. By consolidating them, the project seeks to reduce service complexity, eliminate confusion, and streamline change management efforts across impacted domains, contributing to overall cost savings. This role will form part of a new scrum team within Minerva Platform to develop and deliver the Ingestion and Risking within the SAS Platform including IDP.
Background: The Minerva Platform is one of the customer's strategic SAS-based tools, designed to industrialise the identification and risking of tax-related activities. Currently deployed for Self Assessment (SA) and VAT Repayment Risking, Minerva is being further expanded to support a broader range of applications. As part of this expansion, we are seeking a Data Engineer to join the Data Acquisition Team. This team plays a critical role in ingesting and integrating data from a wide variety of data sources into the Minerva Platform. The data ingested supports high-impact programmes of work such as Making Tax Digital (MTD) and Income Tax Self Assessment (ITSA), as well as new initiatives like Agent Registration Risking. This role is required specifically for the MMTAR (Modernising, Mandating Tax Advisor Registration) Risking which will be added to the Minerva Platform and is pivotal in ensuring the platform continues to evolve as a robust, scalable, and secure data environment that underpins strategic decision-making and risk analysis capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of data integration and transformation solutions using SAS.
- Architect and implement scalable data pipelines and services that support Business Intelligence and analytics platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define technical specifications, and deliver robust data solutions.
- Champion Agile and Scrum methodologies, ensuring timely delivery of sprints and continuous improvement.
- Drive DevOps practices for CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment of data services.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
- Ensure data quality, governance, and security standards are upheld across all solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues and performance bottlenecks.
Key Skills:
- Strong expertise in ETL tools.
- Experience with data virtualization.
- Proficiency in SAS for data analytics and reporting.
- Solid understanding of Agile and Scrum frameworks.
