Octopus Energy started with a bold idea: to build Britain’s first truly digital energy supplier. By combining world-class tech with brilliant humans who care deeply about customers and driving the renewable energy transition, we made it happen and in 2025, we became Britain’s largest energy supplier. Now, we’re scaling our services business, making it easy to switch to heat pumps, solar and EVs, and launching smart tariffs for Low Carbon Tech. With this, we’re also taking the learnings, products and experiences that customers love here and rolling them out worldwide. OE Tech is the engineering and product organisation inside Octopus Energy. Here you’ll have real ownership, variety, and the chance to shape products that make a tangible difference in people’s lives: lowering bills, enabling greener living, and delivering experiences customers genuinely love.

You’ll work side by side with teams across services, marketing, operations, and data, and see the impact of your work in the real world, fast. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Low Carbon Tech team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Take the reins on more than one of our high impact products, shaping the vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring they are aligned with our overall business goals.
  • Own the business case and ROI, keeping stakeholders across Octopus genuinely excited and informed about changes and their impact.
  • Execute day‑to‑day tasks – taking full ownership of planning, running, delivering and monitoring key missions in your area, keeping things on track and ensuring smooth hand‑offs.
  • Deliver analysis that gets under the hood of our products, constantly measuring and improving product performance, security, and reliability.
  • Champion product discovery by rapidly experimenting, vibe‑coding prototypes before passing them over to engineering.
  • Decide when to dive deep into finding a solution and when to move fast, balancing real‑world risks with customer value.
  • Coach junior PMs to help them smash their career goals and share your wisdom to level up our whole product community.
  • Maintain a serious customer obsession so every prioritisation call comes back to the customer experience.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong curiosity about the home energy and electrotech space; a passion for solving systemic problems rather than just playing with cool tech.
  • Experience steering complex, fast‑changing products with plenty of stories to tell about real value delivered to customers or colleagues.
  • Comfort with AI to prototype and write queries so you can grab data and test ideas independently.
  • A calm approach to ambiguity, using discovery methods to build clarity out of chaos.
  • Strong communication skills to explain the 'why' behind tough decisions, handle dependencies smoothly, and energise diverse teams around a shared goal.
  • Self‑awareness, a habit of reflecting on your work, seeking feedback, and continually sharpening your product craft.
  • Background in product management, or a technical background (dev, data science, etc.), or a customer‑focused discipline (UX design, user research). All are considered.

Compensation

Compensation will be discussed during the interview process, ensuring it aligns with your experience.
