Octopus Fleet is our business offering, a multifunctional team made up of product, development, commercial, operations, marketing, partnerships and more – all focused on simplifying operations across mixed and fully electrified vehicle fleets.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly detail-oriented and enthusiastic Business Operations Specialist to join the Octopus Fleet team.

In this pivotal new role, you will support new businesses joining Octopus Fleet, guiding them through a smooth, compliant onboarding process as they transition to sustainable EV energy.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with great communication skills and a passion for customer service to learn the operational ropes of a high-growth scale-up.

  • Own the onboarding process by managing and executing the end-to-end journey for bringing new business customers onto the Octopus Fleet platform, ensuring a positive and efficient start.
  • Provide responsive customer support as the first line of contact for new and existing business clients, answering operational queries and delivering a high-quality service experience.
  • Handle compliance and verification by accurately completing administrative tasks related to vetting new business sign-ups and conducting Know Your Business (KYB) checks.
  • Manage documentation and reporting by maintaining accurate client records and onboarding progress in our CRM systems, as well as assisting with basic status reporting.
  • Drive the internal feedback loop by channeling customer insights and common operational friction points to product and tech teams to continually refine our tools and processes.
  • A strong customer focus driven by genuine enthusiasm for delivering exceptional client experiences and a passion for driving sustainability and EV adoption.
  • Top-tier communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly explain processes and professionally interact with business contacts.
  • Solid organisational ability to manage multiple administrative tasks and customer priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a desire to ensure every step of the process (especially compliance checks) is completed accurately and thoroughly.
  • Adaptability and resourcefulness to thrive in an environment where things are constantly improving, alongside a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Prior experience in a customer service, administrative, or operations support role is a strong plus.
