We are recruiting for a Systems Change Lead to join us here at Octavius. Reporting to the Systems Architecture Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering technology change across our growing civil engineering business. We’re investing heavily in our digital landscape to support safe, sustainable and efficient transport solutions throughout the UK and this role will help ensure our systems evolve in a secure, modern and effective way.
You’ll help shape, design and implement changes to our core systems, integrations and data flows, ensuring our technology environment is robust, efficient and aligned with leading practice. The role is offered on a hybrid basis, with your main office base being one of our locations (including London, Reigate, Coventry, Winchester, or Hatfield). You can work mostly from home, with occasional travel to offices or project sites, or there’s flexibility for you to spend more time in the office if that suits your working style; we don’t mandate set office days, and we trust you to work where you do your best work.
You’ll be working on:
- Designing system solutions aligned with enterprise and solution architecture.
- Implementing configuration changes across key platforms such as Snowflake, Mimecast, COINS, Procore, Salesforce, UKG and other critical business systems.
- Developing integrations and data feeds in line with integration and data architecture principles.
- Contributing to technology solution selection by assessing non‑functional requirements.
- Supporting engagement with business teams to understand unmet technology needs and future system requirements.
- Deploying approved changes within our Microsoft ecosystem, including Power Platform, Azure Data Factory, SQL Server and M365 device policies.
- Monitoring system capacity and forecasting future needs to ensure performance and scalability.
Your work will help ensure our systems operate securely, efficiently and in a way that supports the evolving needs of the organisation. You’ll work with a wide range of teams across the organisation from superusers of core systems to business stakeholders, IT specialists and external technology partners. You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues to understand requirements, design sensible solutions and deliver high‑quality system changes.
You’ll receive an attractive rewards package, including a Company Car scheme, Private Healthcare, Pension, Life Assurance, 25 days Annual Leave (plus a birthday day off). You’ll also have access to Hybrid working where possible, enhanced Paternity & Maternity benefits and chances to grow both personally and professionally.
About You
You enjoy solving problems, asking questions and exploring options to find the best way forward. You engage confidently and communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical colleagues alike. You build trusting relationships with business teams to understand their needs, help shape practical solutions and can respectfully set priorities, manage expectations or decline requests when necessary. You’re comfortable working in an environment where priorities shift and not everything is fully defined, bringing clarity and structure when it’s needed. You stay calm under pressure and remain adaptable, persistent and focused when circumstances change. You take pride in delivering high‑quality outcomes and maintaining strong attention to detail.
You’ll bring:
- Demonstrated experience designing system solutions across applications, integrations and data flows, aligned to architectural principles and leading practice.
- Hands‑on experience configuring and enhancing off‑the‑shelf systems and implementing changes within the Microsoft ecosystem (e.g. Power Platform, Azure Data Factory, SQL Server, M365 policies).
- Proven experience developing systems integrations and data feeds, working to integration and data architecture standards.
- Experience working closely with business stakeholders, system superusers and technology partners to gather requirements, shape solutions, support decision‑making for new technology selection and deliver system changes effectively.
- Strong grounding in IT software, infrastructure, secure development and cyber security principles, governance and capacity management within a corporate environment.
- Relevant qualifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or CISSP with a degree in Information Systems, IT, Business Administration or equivalent.
