At Octavius, we bring people together — and in this role you'll play a pivotal role in delivering a flagship highways scheme that will improve connectivity and infrastructure for the region. You'll lead from the front, taking ownership of a defined section of works and driving safe, high-quality, and commercially successful delivery. This is an opportunity to shape a major National Highways project while fostering a collaborative culture that champions innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement.

As Site Agent on the A46 Coventry Junctions – Walsgrave Scheme, you will take full responsibility for a section of works, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant delivery to programme, budget, and quality standards. Your role will include:

  • Leading large-scale earthworks, structures, drainage, highways works, including Traffic Management
  • Managing site teams and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely and to specification
  • Overseeing Project Plans, RAMS, ITPs, waste plans, QA files, and ensuring CDM and National Highways compliance
  • Driving programme performance, including 3-month lookaheads and milestone achievement
  • Chairing weekly site meetings and ensuring clear communication across all teams
  • Championing Zero Harm and ensuring full HSEQ compliance
  • Managing cost control, forecasting, and commercial performance for your section
  • Identifying and implementing value engineering opportunities
  • Leading defect-free delivery and successful client handover

You’ll ensure accurate reporting, proactive risk management, and strong stakeholder relationships throughout the lifecycle of your works.

  • Commercial, Planning, and Estimating teams

  • Extensive experience delivering earthworks on major highways projects
  • Proven knowledge of structures, drainage, highways construction, traffic management, and temporary works
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts, CDM regulations, risk management, programme control, and cost forecasting
  • Experience with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project (desirable)
  • Competence in resource planning, reporting, and commercial management

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (preferred)
  • CSCS Gold or Black Card (essential)
  • SMSTS (essential)
  • First Aid at Work (essential)
  • Temporary Works Coordinator (desirable)
