We are recruiting for a Possession Planner to join Octavius. Octavius is a leading civil engineering organisation delivering safe, sustainable transport solutions across the UK. This role is to work on rail framework planning track access programmes.
Responsibilities
- Ensure Octavius Infrastructure activities are carried out in compliance with rail industry safety standards, procedures, and Network Rail Rule Book (and TfL/LUL QUENSH) requirements in respect of the planning and documentation of Safe Systems Of Work for trackside activities.
- Ensure compliance with Octavius Rail Assurance and other processes and policies in line with, and over and above the minimum requirements of the Network Rail Rule Book.

Qualifications
- Expert knowledge of Network Rail Rule Book requirements.
- Detailed working knowledge of NR/L2/OHS/019 – Safety of People Working on or Near The Line.
- Detailed understanding of rail infrastructure systems and processes (PWay, S&T, Electrification systems) and industry planning terminology and nomenclature.
- Experience in planning arrangements for the access/egress and use of engineering trains, on‑track machines, and on‑track plant.
- Good experience in planning track access on both AC electrified and DC electrified lines – including traction current isolation planning principles.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Excellent detailed analysis and critical evaluation skills.
- Clear written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Rail planning and operations knowledge.
- Experience in managing information & document control systems.
- Experience working as a Responsible Manager meeting NR/L2/OHS/019 requirements would be an advantage.
- GCSE level in English and Maths.
