We are recruiting for a Quality Manager or Senior Quality Manager to join us here at Octavius. We are a leading civil engineering organisation delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK. This is an important role within the Assurance, Quality & Business Improvement (AQ&BI) function, providing professional quality management and continuous improvement support to Rail Frameworks and projects. The role works under the direction of the Quality & Continuous Improvement Lead (Q&CIL) and supports the development, implementation, communication and continual improvement of the project Quality Management System.
The Quality Manager or Senior Quality Manager provides guidance, coaching and practical assistance to project teams to help them apply quality processes effectively and consistently. The role does not hold overall accountability for project or framework quality management but acts as a trusted advisor supporting projects to meet quality requirements and embed good practice. The role is based from home but requires regular travel to project sites and offices around 2-3 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Support the Quality & Continuous Improvement Lead in the development, maintenance and improvement of the project Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001, framework requirements and regulatory standards.
- Support the development of quality processes, procedures, templates, guidance notes and training materials.
- Provide quality management advice and guidance to Rail frameworks and project teams.
- Support the operation of the Continuous Improvement Hub.
- Assist with the management of Improvement Opportunities and non‑conformances as learning tools.
- Promote learning and continuous improvement through effective non-conformance reporting, root cause analysis of quality incidents, lessons learned reviews and supporting quality practices during project kick-offs.
