Join Octavius Infrastructure as a Multi Skilled Operative in our Rail Services team based in Reigate. You will maintain and repair depots, stations, and buildings across the Sussex route area, ensuring safety and smooth operation.

Working Hours
Full‑time, site‑based: Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 15:30. Total 42.5 hours per week onsite (excluding travel time). Occasional nights and weekends as required. On‑call every 9 weeks once fully trained.

Responsibilities

  • Day‑to‑day repairs and maintenance across various sites, including carpentry, brickwork, plastering, plumbing, and general building tasks.
  • Operate tools, machinery, and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of work and report any issues promptly.
  • Deliver high‑quality work while adhering to health and safety policies.
  • Work flexibly, including night shifts, to meet project needs.

You will collaborate closely with engineers, technicians, supervisors, and clients, building strong relationships and embodying Octavius values in every interaction.

Qualifications
Experience working on construction sites (essential). Ability to follow instructions and prioritise safety. Good communication skills and basic IT proficiency. Basic literacy and numeracy. Interest in or working towards an industry‑recognised qualification such as C&G, NVQ, CSCS, PTS, First Aid, PASMA, Level C, PIC/COSS (preferred). Must be based within one hour’s travel of Reigate.
