Octavius are looking for experienced Site Managers to join our team working on highways projects in the North.
These roles will support delivery of schemes on National Highways’ Northern SDF framework, in areas 10, 12, 13 & 14. Candidates must be located in Yorkshire, the North West or the North East. Although our projects cover all regions, each candidate will be aligned to a core region based on their location, with travel primarily focused within that area.
The position involves night working.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage sites across your National Highways Area, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to specification.
- Act as the main point of contact on site, maintaining high standards of health and safety, quality and programme delivery in line with National Highways standards.
- Oversee daily activities across highway construction and maintenance projects
- Ensure all works are carried out in line with National Highways specifications and requirements
- Lead daily briefings, toolbox talks and site inductions for teams
- Coordinate resources including labour, plant, materials and subcontractors
- Maintain accurate site documentation, including permits and reports
- Build effective working relationships with site teams, clients and key stakeholders

Qualifications

- Demonstrable experience supervising works on National Highways schemes
- Strong understanding of highways construction practices and health & safety standards
- Full UK driving licence
