Octavius Infrastructure is thrilled to be a key player in the Southern Renewals Enterprise (SRE), contributing to the delivery of Electrification and Plant (E&P) renewals across the Southern region. The SRE is responsible for the Southern Region's renewals programme (CP7 & CP8), aiming to develop, mobilise and deliver a £9 billion programme between 2024 and 2034 through collective expertise.
We are expanding our Southern Renewals Enterprise Commercial team and are on the lookout for a dedicated Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a £50+ million package of work over the next few years. This role will specifically focus on the Feeders package of work, which is crucial for upgrading the power infrastructure of the railway network and will significantly improve the efficiency and sustainability of the rail system.
The role will involve 3 days per week in our London Blackfriars office, combined with visits to site in the Southern region. If you are an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with NEC and rail experience, we want to hear from you! E&P experience is an advantage.
Responsibilities- Lead the robust commercial management of a variety of projects, working closely with customers and stakeholders to support successful project delivery, compliant with contractual terms, and achieve the business plan commitments.
- Engage with our supply chain partners and manage all costs related to projects in accordance with contractual agreements.

About You- You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with teams and stakeholders.
- You should be a creative problem solver, able to use your initiative and function well in challenging situations.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities are essential.
- Extensive recurring success in a Quantity Surveying role, working on multiple and large projects, in a Rail environment (advantageous).
- Thorough knowledge of monitoring cost performance of projects and contract administration.
- NEC Contract experience is essential.
- Evidence of building effective relationships with teams and demonstrable experience of coaching, mentoring and managing people.
- Good level IT proficiency and a thorough knowledge of cost management software and tools.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related course (or equivalent qualification/relevant experience).
