We are recruiting for a Site Agent to join us here at Octavius. We are a leading civil engineering organisation delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK. The initial project you will be working on is a Β£3m roundabout project, expected to last 9 months. This scheme is located in West Sussex, so candidates must be within a commutable distance.
The Site Agent will be responsible for the management of the construction site in order to achieve required project delivery to our customers' requirements, while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, quality, reducing environmental impact and cost control. They will deliver multiple ongoing projects, to the required programme, whilst managing change within the requirements of the contracts. The Site Agent will work closely with both the Octavius team and our Clients to ensure that projects are completed in a safe manner whilst customer requirements and expectations are always maintained or exceeded.
A key part of the role is to create an energetic, dynamic, and vibrant environment which looks for efficient, innovative, sustainable ways to develop projects, whilst maintaining a safe environment for our staff and those affected by our works.

Evidenced experience of managing Highway Construction/Improvements is essential. Excellent planning, organisation, and time management skills, with an ability to prioritise and manage tasks simultaneously without compromising on minimum standards and quality are required. Working knowledge of NEC contract conditions, CDM regulations, design management, programme and risk management and cost control including forecasting, actual cost and value reporting is necessary. Good knowledge of specifications and testing regimes relevant to general civil engineering is important. Temporary Works Co-ordinator and Lifting qualifications are desirable. A good level of IT skills including MS Project and Excel is required, along with a good level of programme management and application of conditions of contract (NEC, ICE, etc). A Full Driving Licence is also necessary.
You will bring a Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience or relevant qualification, and NVQ Level 6 or above in a construction related discipline. SMSTS qualification is required.
