What You'll Be Doing…

  • Support the safe and efficient delivery of electrical works, including installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
  • Develop skills in electrical design, record keeping, programming, and supplier management.
  • Assist with drafting method statements, planning works and gradually take on supervisory responsibilities.
  • Shadow and support experienced engineers and Site Managers to understand project execution and completion.
  • Prepare sketches, assist in survey planning, and conduct site visits.
  • Participate in meetings and workshops, manage documents, and contribute to design management.
  • Assist with cost estimating, programme development, and presenting work to peers and customers.
  • Promote and adhere to Octavius' commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment.
  • Engage with local communities and consider becoming a STEM ambassador.

You’ll join a diverse team of dedicated professionals, including Site Managers, Project Managers, Project Engineers and Engineering Managers. Building strong relationships with colleagues, suppliers and clients will be key to your success. You'll also have opportunities to engage with local communities and promote careers in construction.

About You…

You're eager to learn and ready to start your career in electrical engineering. You have (or are predicted to achieve) Grade 4 or above in English and Maths, and the necessary UCAS points to enrol on a Degree Level Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or a related field. You have strong communication skills, a flexible mindset, and a self‑motivated approach. You're adaptable, a team player and passionate about problem‑solving. You're committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. A valid driving licence may be required for site‑based roles.
