Apprentice Engineer – Electricals
Location: London and South East England
Start: 2026
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support the safe and efficient delivery of electrical works, including installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems
- Develop skills in electrical design, record keeping, programming, and supplier management
- Assist with drafting method statements, planning works, and gradually take on supervisory responsibilities
- Shadow and support experienced engineers and Site Managers to understand project execution and completion
- Prepare sketches, assist in survey planning, and conduct site visits
- Participate in meetings and workshops, manage documents, and contribute to design management
- Assist with cost estimating, programme development, and presenting work to peers and customers
- Promote and adhere to Octavius\' commitment to Health, Safety, and the Environment
- Engage with local communities and consider becoming a STEM ambassador
About You
- You\'re eager to learn and ready to start your career in electrical engineering
- You have (or are predicted to achieve) Grade 4 or above in English and Maths, and the necessary UCAS points to enrol on a Degree Level Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- You have strong communication skills, a flexible mindset, and a self-motivated approach
- You\'re adaptable, a team player, and passionate about problem-solving
- You\'re committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- A valid driving licence may be required for site‑based roles
