We're looking for a General Foreperson to strengthen delivery across our Regional Civil Engineering (ORCE) work in the South West. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll help drive consistent standards across multiple schemes—supporting site teams to deliver safely, to programme, and to a high quality, while keeping customers and communities informed and considered. This role is permanent, full‑time, supporting South West frameworks and contracts (including Somerset frameworks) and based around the South West area with travel to sites as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading day‑to‑day site activity and supervising delivery teams and suppliers to maintain performance and efficiency.
- Supporting the Site Manager / Project Manager, including deputising when needed, to keep delivery running smoothly.
- Embedding a strong safety culture, ensuring adherence to safe systems of work and encouraging a “everyone home safe, every day” mindset.
- Driving a right‑first‑time approach—maintaining quality, closing out actions properly, and keeping delivery aligned to customer requirements.
- Keeping a clear focus on the customer experience—supporting engagement at key stages, seeking feedback, and acting quickly where improvements are needed.
- Coordinating site resources and supporting planning to help achieve agreed programmes across frameworks and contract work.
