We are recruiting for a Quality & Continuous Improvement Lead to join us here at Octavius. We are a leading civil engineering organisation delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK.
The Quality & Continuous Improvement Lead is a senior role responsible for shaping and embedding the project quality management system across the business. This includes ownership of processes, procedures, templates, training materials which support the system. The role also acts as the Sector Quality Lead for Rail and plays a pivotal role in driving continuous improvement initiatives across Octavius. The role will support the wider Assurance, Quality & Business Improvement (AQ&BI) function through assurance activities and business-wide monthly project reporting.
Responsibilities- Own and maintain the project Quality Management System, ensuring it reflects best practice, lessons learned and meets ISO9001:2015 requirements, our Frameworks and Projects, regulatory and legislative standards.
- Deliver training, briefings, and communications to project teams to support effective implementation.
- Lead the development and execution of project quality audits to assess compliance, identify improvement areas and support project teams in meeting quality standards.
- Establish and manage a Continuous Improvement Hub to capture, analyse and share learning from across the business.
- Identify trends and opportunities for improvement and share these with the relevant business authority / subject matter expert.
- Develop and embed a lessons learned process across all project lifecycle stages, including bids, delivery, and operations.

- Desirable: Strong understanding of construction processes and project delivery.
- Desirable: Experience leading teams and implementing change initiatives.
- Degree-level education in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Membership (or working towards) of the Chartered Quality Institute or equivalent professional body.
- Relevant Quality Management qualifications, such as: Lean Practitioner and/or Lead Auditor for ISO9001.
