Kickstart your engineering career with Octavius Infrastructure as an Apprentice Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands‑on experience while working alongside experienced professionals in a dynamic and supportive environment. This role is part of the Framework team supporting the Connect Plus framework, delivering critical highways and infrastructure works that keep the strategic road network operating safely and efficiently.

As Apprentice Engineer you will assist with method statements, conduct site visits, gradually take on supervisory tasks, and support the safe and efficient delivery of on‑site projects. You will develop skills in setting out, cost control, record keeping, design management and cost estimating. The role may require occasional travel or periods away from home and some night work where necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with method statements and site visits.
  • Support setting out, cost control and record keeping.
  • Gradually take on supervisory tasks while upholding health, safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the project team, supplier and community stakeholders.
  • Contribute to design management and cost estimating.
  • Occasional travel or periods away from home; possible night work.
Qualifications
  • Grade 4 or above in English and Maths.
  • GCSE level 4 or above in Maths and English to qualify for an apprenticeship.
  • Necessary UCAS points to enrol on a Degree Level Apprenticeship.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • A passion for learning and developing commercial skills.
  • A detail‑oriented approach and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Adaptability, teamwork and proactive problem‑solving.
