We’re working with a leading asset manager who are looking for an experienced Senior Data Analyst to join our Decision Analytics Team, working directly with Portfolio Managers and Analysts to analyse investment decisions, identify behavioural patterns, and drive continuous improvement in decision-making processes. This is a unique role at the intersection of behavioural science and data analytics, using a rich historical dataset to evaluate how investment decisions are made, and how they can be improved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse the decision-making behaviour of investment professionals using historical trading data and behavioural science techniques.
  • Conduct deep-dive reviews of investment actions to highlight patterns, anomalies, and flags that may influence performance.
  • Write and maintain clean, well-documented code in R to manipulate, analyse, and visualise investment and behavioural data.
  • Develop behavioural diagnostics and signals that support post-trade review, strategy evaluation, and feedback loops.
  • Produce clear, insightful reports that distil complex analyses into actionable insights for Portfolio Managers and Analysts.
  • Collaborate with investment teams to embed findings into ongoing workflows and enhance investment processes.
  • Continuously evolve the team’s frameworks for interpreting and improving decision quality.

What We’re Looking For

  • 7–8 years of experience in data analysis, ideally in an investment management, trading, or decision analytics context.
  • Strong coding and data analysis skills in R.
  • Experience working with large, structured datasets — particularly trading, portfolio, or decision-tracking data.
  • A solid understanding of behavioural finance or demonstrated interest in decision-making psychology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convert data and analysis into clear, concise insights.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a mindset focused on continuous improvement and collaborative problem-solving.
