Octavius Finance is working on an exclusive, retained search with a leading global hedge fund to appoint a senior hire within their Alpha Capture team. This is a strategic and high-impact position designed for someone with a strong understanding of the equity long/short landscape and established relationships across the hedge fund community.
The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding and deepening the firm’s network of external managers, identifying underappreciated yet high-quality equity long/short managers globally, and conducting detailed investment due diligence on potential contributors.
Key responsibilities:
- Identify and engage equity long/short managers with strong, differentiated alpha signals
- Lead investment due diligence (qualitative and quantitative) on prospective contributors
- Help refine and evolve the firm’s due diligence framework and manager assessment process
- Act as a senior representative of the firm to external managers and investors
- Collaborate closely with portfolio managers and data scientists to translate insights into investable ideas
We are looking for:
- Experience in Capital Introduction, Manager Research, or Hedge Fund Selection with recent exposure to equity long/short strategies
- Strong understanding of ELS managers and fund structures, ideally with global coverage
- Excellent relationship-building skills and ability to engage credibly with investment professionals
- Entrepreneurial mindset and a genuine interest in the buy-side investment process
- Quantitative or analytical background a plus but not essential
This is a rare opportunity to move into a true buy-side environment, working closely with senior investment professionals and helping to shape the evolution of an established alpha capture platform.
