Our client, a global multi-strategy investment firm, is looking to hire a Portfolio Manager to lead a dedicated long/short equity strategy focused on the global Aerospace & Defence sector.
As the firm continues to expand its coverage of cyclical industries, this appointment represents a compelling opportunity to join a successful and collaborative investment team. The successful candidate will be allocated dedicated capital and will work alongside established portfolio managers and analysts covering other cyclical sectors.
Responsibilities
Manage a dedicated long/short equity portfolio focused on global Aerospace & Defence companies.
Conduct rigorous bottom-up research and fundamental analysis to generate alpha-driven investment ideas.
Leverage cross-sector and cross-regional insights from related cyclical industries to identify interlinked macro and supply chain opportunities.
Maintain active engagement with company management teams, industry experts, and market participants.
Apply disciplined risk management aligned with firm-wide frameworks and capital allocation policies.
Collaborate with other portfolio managers and analysts across regions and asset classes to enhance information flow and investment performance.
Communicate portfolio strategy, positioning, and performance drivers to senior leadership and internal stakeholders.
Requirements
Proven track record managing or contributing to a long/short equities strategy, ideally within Aerospace, Defence, or broader Industrials.
Senior analysts with who have co-managed with a PM, or advised a PM on risk and sizing are also strongly encouraged to apply.
Deep understanding of sector fundamentals, global defence budgets, and geopolitical catalysts.
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modelling, valuation, and fundamental research.
Demonstrated success in alpha generation and risk-adjusted performance delivery.
