Our client, a leading global investment management firm, is looking to hire a highly motivated and intellectually curious individual to join its London-based investment team as an Analyst to cover European equities. This is a rare opportunity to join a globally respected investment management firm, working across both long-only and long/short strategies, while benefiting from close mentorship by some of the industry’s most successful and pre-eminent European equity investors. The successful candidate will support the investment process through in-depth fundamental research, detailed financial analysis, and the generation of investment ideas across European markets. This role is suited to individuals with early career experience in equity research, who are looking to transition into or build upon a career on the buy side.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct bottom-up fundamental analysis of European companies
- Build and maintain detailed financial models and valuations
- Monitor market developments, industry trends, and company news
- Prepare investment memos and research reports to support portfolio decisions
- Collaborate closely with senior analysts and portfolio managers
- Participate in meetings with company management teams and industry experts
Role Requirements
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in equity research (buy side or sell side).
- Candidates having recently completed or nearing the completion of rotational graduate schemes at investment banks, asset managers, or hedge funds are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Candidates MUST speak a foreign European language
- Candidates MUST hold CFA accreditation, having completed all three levels (ideally with first-time passes)
- Exceptionally strong academic background, ideally in finance, economics, or a related field.
- A clear and demonstrable passion for investing and financial markets, evidenced by proactive engagement such as managing a personal or virtual portfolio, or consistently reading and researching investment-related content, or similar.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- High degree of self-motivation, discipline, and intellectual curiosity
