Home Jobs Project Director - Female Safety App
Location: Farringdon
Contract Type: Full-Time | Permanent | Office Based
About the Role
The Project Director will take end-to-end ownership of the Female Safety App’s development, launch, adoption and continuing growth. Working closely with the Founder, operational teams and technology partners, the postholder will set the delivery plan, establish the external partnership network, shape the app’s public profile and ensure that promises made to users and partners can be delivered safely and consistently.
This is not a conventional nine-to-five project management role. Women’s safety issues arise at all hours and public debate can move quickly. The postholder must be prepared to attend events and meetings across the UK, respond appropriately to urgent operational or media matters, and remain closely engaged with emerging issues affecting women. Flexibility must be exercised responsibly, with clear escalation and rota arrangements rather than an expectation that one individual is continuously on call.
The role will involve:
- Leading the overall project strategy and delivery
- Building partnerships with charities, police forces, local authorities and public-sector organisations
- Developing corporate partnerships, sponsorships and commercial opportunities
- Supporting the development of safeguarding, reporting and referral processes
- Working closely with technology and operational teams
- Leading PR, stakeholder engagement and public-facing communications
- Representing the project at meetings, events and conferences across the UK
- Building a sustainable model for long-term national growth
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects
- Strong public, corporate or charitable sector networks
- Excellent partnership-building and communication skill
- Experience in safeguarding, women’s safety, community safety or a related field
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- The confidence to engage with senior stakeholders, media and public-sector organisations
- Excellent judgement when dealing with sensitive and confidential matters
- A genuine commitment to improving women’s safety
This is an opportunity to take a leading role in developing a service with the potential to make a meaningful difference to women across the UK.
