Responsibilities:
- Provide customer services including system administration, Database Administration, technical implementation, and support for the Computer Aided Dispatch (I/CAD) product and complementary applications located at the customers' offices.
- Deliver a range of activities according to experience and provide support and implementation services.
- 1st and 2nd line support for I/CAD live systems with potential for inclusion in an out of hours on-call rota (additional payments apply).
- Fault management where an issue has been passed to Octave's second/third level support engineers or other third party via the customer’s fault management software.
- Implementation of product releases, updates, and functionality changes, including system testing and configuration.
- Preventative maintenance to address issues such as log file housekeeping, scheduled checks, disk utilisation, system load and performance.
- Production of site reports and solution documentation including low-level and high-level designs.
- Collaborate closely with customer teams to understand their requirements.
- Assist with software rollouts and provide support if required.
- Perform and advise on database administration tasks, including resolving data integrity issues and identifying performance improvements.
- Implement Map upgrades.
- Oracle Database Management (approx. 60% of role): Monthly Checks, implement regular DB changes for new developments, implement security requirements from the customer teams, data sync and purge, monitor and maintain database replication, build DBs onto new environments when required, support Oracle patching, create, maintain, and update reports, and support and manage Data Guard.
Required Knowledge:
- Microsoft Operating systems (client and server) and networking technologies
- Relational Databases and SQL (preferably Oracle)
- Scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell)
Highly Desirable Knowledge And Experience:
- Experience of working in an application support position for a software vendor
- Experience of working as a Database Administrator for a software vendor or service provider.
Education And Experience:
- Minimum of a 2:1 degree in an IT related subject or equivalent relevant experience.
- Candidates should have over five years related practical IT experience.
- Ability to obtain full security clearance.
