We are looking for a passionate and reliable Chef to join our team, delivering high-quality meals within a supportive care environment. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by preparing nutritious, balanced, and appealing meals for adults with a wide range of support needs, including dementia, learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, and complex physical health needs.

Location: Sheepwash Lane, Worksop, Nottinghamshire, S80 1RA

Pay: £16.00 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 2:30pm (Closed on Bank Holidays)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and serve meals that meet a variety of dietary and cultural requirements
  • Ensure all food is produced on time, meets portion standards, and is attractively presented
  • Create light bites, snacks, and refreshments tailored to service needs
  • Prepare specialist meals (e.g., soft diets, allergen-free, diabetic, fortified meals) following guidance
  • Work closely with staff to ensure meals align with individual care and support plans

Stock & Kitchen Management:

  • Order food and supplies within budget, monitoring stock levels to minimise waste
  • Maintain accurate records (stock rotation, temperature logs, due diligence checks)
  • Check deliveries and ensure safe, compliant storage of all food items

Food Safety & Hygiene:

  • Maintain exceptional cleanliness across all kitchen areas and equipment
  • Follow Safer Food, Better Business guidelines and food hygiene legislation
  • Carry out and record routine checks (temperatures, cleaning schedules, hazard reports)
  • Ensure safe use of equipment and report faults promptly

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience as a Chef, ideally within a care or community setting
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Ability to cater for a range of dietary needs
  • Organised, reliable, and able to work independently
  • A caring and compassionate approach
