We are currently recruiting a Family Gateway Officer to join the Family Gateway / Early Help Team.
The Role
As a Family Gateway Officer, you will be part of a supportive and experienced team providing information, advice and assistance to families and professionals across Cardiff. You will act as a first point of contact, responding to enquiries and referrals via telephone, web chat and email, ensuring families receive the right support at the right time. The role involves working closely with Early Help services, partner agencies and Social Workers, identifying risk where appropriate and escalating concerns in line with safeguarding procedures.
Location: Cardiff (Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office)
Pay rate: £17.50 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: 3-month contract+
Start date: ASAP
About You
- Enthusiasm, motivation and a positive approach
- Resilience and the ability to work effectively under pressure
- A genuine passion for supporting children, young people and families
- A strong understanding of the needs of babies, children, young people and families
- Proven experience of building effective working relationships with a diverse range of individuals and professionals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly
- The ability to provide clear, accurate information and advice
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft packages and/or case management systems
You will also be able to recognise safeguarding concerns and work collaboratively with Social Workers and partner agencies as required.
