We are recruiting for an experienced Leasehold Officer / Service Charge Officer to join a busy Local Authority Housing team.
- Pay: 17.85 per hour
- Contract: Initial 3 months, with a view to extend
- Start Date: ASAP
- Working Pattern: Hybrid (2-3 days per week in the office initially)
- Office Locations: Richmond, Harrogate or Selby
The Role: Working within the Housing Services team, you will manage a portfolio of leaseholder and housing-related accounts, ensuring effective income collection across a range of tenure types while delivering an excellent customer-focused service. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing leaseholder, service charge and shared ownership accounts.
- Recovering outstanding housing-related debts in line with policies and procedures.
- Monitoring customer accounts and taking early intervention to prevent arrears escalating.
- Negotiating payment arrangements with customers.
- Providing advice and support to residents experiencing financial difficulties.
- Signposting customers to benefits and additional support services where appropriate.
- Undertaking account management, recovery action and court attendance where required.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with housing legislation and council procedures.
