Cardiff Council is seeking an experienced Assistant Solicitor (Procurement) Locum to join its Governance and Legal Services β Procurement team on a temporary contract, with a strong likelihood of extension.
You will play a key role in advising on the Procurement Act, Public Contracts Regulations, and wider governance and decision-making within a local authority setting, ensuring services continue to operate within a robust legal and regulatory framework.
Location: Remote
Contract: Temporary (initially 3 months, with potential to extend)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Directorate: Governance and Legal Services β Procurement
Pay Rate: Β£50 per hour (Umbrella)
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor (with a current practising certificate) or Barrister with equivalent qualification
- Proven experience and strong working knowledge of procurement law, including the Procurement Act and Public Contracts Regulations
- Demonstrable experience drafting, reviewing and amending contracts, including standard forms
- Knowledge and experience of local government law, including governance and decision-making processes
